After School Discovery!

11/9/2023 9:33 am

The autumn After School Discovery session is wrapping up. Check the schedule here to see when your child’s class ends. Classes that will use the make-up date are marked on the schedule.

We are already planning for the winter session! If you have an interesting hobby or skill that you would like to share, we’d love to have you teach a class. The instructor application for classes for winter session is out now! Student registration will begin January 8, and classes will begin January 22. Look for a backpack flier with the schedule of classes shortly after winter break. If you have an idea for a class that you would like offered through ASD, please email us.

Building beautification for winter

11/9/2023 10:07 am

For winter beautification, we need to start collecting winter greenery, birch or dogwood twigs (faux or real), faux berries or red long-stemmed leaves, pinecones, etc.

Please send anything you have to school with your child labeled for PTO or drop it in the front office for Marta Ackley, our beautification lead.

Showing the staff our appreciation

11/9/2023 10:03 am

Each year the PTO sets aside funds for staff appreciation. So far this year, the staff appreciation committee has provided coffee and bagels on the first day of school and a catered lunch and snacks during conference week. Recently the committee sent out a staff survey to see how they prefer to be supported for the remainder of the year and, based on the responses, we will focus on:

  • Stocking the lounge with snacks and drinks (highest response rate for this)
  • Monthly Coffee Cart
  • Heavy snacks/lunch during early release in January
  • Staff Appreciation Week in May

These funds will only go so far and stocking the lounge with snack and drinks each week adds up, so we are going to do a "Teacher Lounge Takeover" by class for the remainder of the year. Look for more information coming soon on when your child's class slated to takeover and how you can help/support.

WOW, Wolves! Students ran, walked, and rolled with such joy during our annual Fun Run.

When the pack comes together, we can do amazing things! Congratulations on a successful Fun Run campaign that raised $20,853 for YOUR new playground. That brings the total playground fund donation to more than $40,000 with the PTO dollar-for-dollar match of all proceeds up to $20,000. You made a difference!

Thank you to our amazing committee: Katie McShane (committee lead), Katie Winkel, Jamie Haley, Stephanie Rawlins, and our presidents, treasurers, communications teams, and dozens of volunteers for your support!
