What to watch for this week:
Oh, how we love this time of year!

The fall brings campfires, football games, outside play, and pumpkin patches. As we welcome this change in weather we are also excited to welcome some exciting PTO programs and events this month.

  • After School Discovery - Classes start this week
  • Outdoor Family Movie Night - Friday, October 21, at 7 p.m.
  • Fun Run - Saturday, November 5, 9-10:30 a.m.
  • Veterans Day Town Meeting - Friday, November 11, at 8 a.m.

Thank you

A quick thank you to the After School Discovery Committee for all the behind-the-scenes work you have done to provide these programs for our students.

Another big thank you to the Flower Sale Committee for running such a smooth mum pick up last Friday.

And a final thank you to everyone who attended our PTO general meeting last night. If you missed the meeting here is a link to the slideshow that was presented. Please mark your calendar for our next General Meeting on Monday, February 6, at 7 p.m.

Thanks,

Lindsay and Dawn

DEI discussions + survey

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee would love input from you! Just fill out this quick survey or contact us at WickliffeDEI@gmail.com. Also consider joining us at our monthly meetings the third Thursday of every month (except December) at 5:30 at Wickliffe - the next one will be October 20.

Meanwhile, October is full of holidays that can be great starting points for DEI discussions with kids and others.

And this week is Yom Kippur (Jewish) – October 4-5, Dasara or Vijayadashami (an Indian commemoration) – October 5, Eid Milad un-Nabi (Islamic) – October 7-8, and Sukkot (Jewish) – October 9-16.

Blocking the back teacher parking lot

Just a friendly reminder that when you are waiting in the car line to pick up or drop off your child on Eastcleft Road, please do not block the entrance/exit of the teacher parking lot. I know we all love to catch up on social media in the car line, but this year there is only one way in/out of this lot and teachers are having to sit and wait for long periods at a time if a car is blocking the entrance/exit. Thanks for your help!

Outdoor movie night - save the date!

Please mark your calendar for Friday, October 21, from 7-9 p.m. for Wickliffe's first outdoor family movie night. Plan to pack your chairs and blankets and come enjoy the film. This event is free to attend; popcorn, treats, and water will be available for purchase. More details coming soon!

Volunteer at lunch

Our fabulous Chef Mike could use two volunteers every day for lunch. It is a super fun way to contribute and see all the students at lunch time. Sign up here:

https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d4faaaf22a5f58-lunch

Chef Mike would love to have a list of subs who are available certain days of the week and can be called or contacted in case the person who signed up needs to cancel. This way if you can't make your shift you can look at the sub list and work on finding a replacement. Please click here to add yourself to the sub list.
