What to watch for this week:
Oh, what a night!

The PTO's annual fall fest event was a great success last Friday! Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated a treat, or helped us clean up. I would especially like to thank our fall fest committee - Kerrie Geckeler, Jamie Paoloni, Kerry Hurd, and Lindsey Swad - for all their hard work to create a memorable evening for our families.

Upcoming important dates:

  • September 29: picture day
  • September 30: Town meeting 8:30 a.m.
  • September 30: Flower sale (mum) pick up 4:30-7 p.m. front school parking lot
  • October 3: PTO general meeting - 7 p.m.
  • October 17: No school for students; staff professional development day
  • October 21: Outdoor family movie night at Wickliffe - 7-9 p.m.
  • October 27: Early release at 11:05 a.m. (parent-teacher conferences)

Co-PTO presidents for this school year

As the PTO president this year, it did not take me long to realize that this role should not be handled by one person alone. As a working parent, I need balance between my job, family, and PTO responsibilities. I recently asked Dawn Hofherr if she would take on the PTO co-president role with me this year and she graciously agreed. We put it up for a vote at our last executive meeting and it passed. I am so thankful to have Dawn's experience and support. Moving forward, our PTO will have two co-presidents and two co-president elects sitting on the executive committee.

Thank you,

Lindsay James

Blocking the back teacher parking lot

Just a friendly reminder that when you are waiting in the car line to pick up or drop off your child on Eastcleft Road, please do not block the entrance/exit of the teacher parking lot. I know we all love to catch up on social media in the car line, but this year there is only one way in/out of this lot and teachers are having to sit and wait for long periods at a time if a car is blocking the entrance/exit. Thanks for your help!

After School Discovery enrichment program

After School Discovery classes start next week (week of Oct 3)! We could still use a few more volunteers on Fridays to help guide safe dismissal of the students. It is a very short 30-minute volunteer slot, from 3:45-4:15 p.m.. Whether you can volunteer only one afternoon or a regular series of afternoons, we welcome your help! If you are already going to be picking your child up from a course, it would not require that much additional time, and would really help us out! Please sign up here.

Volunteer at lunch

Our fabulous Chef Mike could use two volunteers every day for lunch. It is a super fun way to contribute and see all the students at lunch time. Sign up here:

Chef Mike would love to have a list of subs who are available certain days of the week and can be called or contacted in case the person who signed up needs to cancel. This way if you can't make your shift you can look at the sub list and work on finding a replacement. Please click here to add yourself to the sub list.
