Facebook
What to Watch for This Week:

Hello Wickliffe families,

As you scroll through the newsfeed below, we'd like to highlight:

  • Spring Flower Sale ordering window is coming to a close: There has been a great response to our flower sale, so much so that a few options have sold out! There are still plenty of beautiful flowers and edibles available, just don't wait to order yours! All orders should be placed by the end of this week. Visit www.fundraisit.org, or see this flyer and below for all the details. Thank you for supporting Wickliffe, the rewards benefit the whole school (no individual prizes).
  • The Spring Bookfair is coming up! We are so happy to announce that we will be doing a modified, in-person bookfair at Wickliffe this spring! As with everything else this year, it will look different; however, we are so excited to be able to offer a version of the in person experience for our students. Mark your calendars for May 10-14! More details to follow!

A big THANK YOU to Upper Arlington Education Foundation (UAEF) for their support for a new school mascot, see below for the photos. Welcome to our new Wickliffe Wolf, and Go Wolves!

Please have your child stop by the lost and found tables at the school entrance (or take a look for yourself). This is a final call, Ms. Evans has indicated that any remaining items will be donated if they aren't collected by the end of school on Friday.

And, don't miss Counselor's Corner for the counseling team updates, including a Wickliffe community "wish tree", which the IDEA Mentors group will be creating, and some thoughts and resources for summer activities from Dr. Kassoy.

Have a wonderful week!

Kelley Swiney and the whole PTO.

Adopt A Teacher/Staff Member!

We want to show the teachers and staff at Wickliffe how much we appreciate all of their hard work and support during the school year! We invite you to sign up and adopt a teacher or staff member for either a month or for the rest of the school year. Up to 3 families can sign up to adopt the same teacher/staff member.

During the time you have adopted the teacher/staff member let them know that you are thinking about them! Send them encouraging e-mails, mail them a card, drop off a small treat at the Front Office, etc.

You do not need to spend a lot of money adopting the teacher/staff member just let them know you and your family are thinking about them and are thankful for all of the hard work!

Sign up to adopt a teacher or staff member
The teachers/staff members completed a survey about their likes, favorite candy, etc. Click here to find out more about your teacher/staff member.

Daily Symptom Checks

Dr. Imhoff shared this message from our school nurses, on the symptoms to watch for before sending our students to school each day:

  • Daily symptom checks: Please continue to conduct a daily symptom check at home for any symptoms related to COVID-19 —  fever of 100.4ºF or higher, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore threat, new or worsened nasal congestion, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea. If your student is experiencing any of these symptoms, please keep them home, and you may call your school nurse, Janice Walsh, for advice.

For more information, the UA school district's responsible restart webpage is here.

School Lunches

There is currently no charge for elementary students to buy school lunch through the end of the school year due to a USDA National Waiver.

  • IN-SCHOOL: Students let their teacher know their lunch choice on the day (no ordering ahead). To view the full lunch menu, with meal descriptions and nutrition information click here. Below is this week's lunch menu:

  • ONLINE ACADEMY: the meal pickup services will continue. Updated information and details will come from Ms. Evans, and on the UA Nutritional Services webpage here

If you have any questions, please contact our Nutritional Services department at (614) 487-5244, or by emailing ihunt@uaschools.org.

Counselors' Corner
Counseling Team Updates

Please help me in congratulating Rebecca Meeks, one of my interns, on being hired as the school counselor at Ridgewood Elementary School in Hilliard. She has been so inspired by her experience at Wickliffe that I know she will take a piece of the “Wickliffe Way” with her to her first job! Congratulations, Rebecca! Wishing you all the best. :)

In other news, IDEA Mentors will be creating a *wish tree* for the Wickliffe community to focus on our individual and collective hopes and dreams to make our school, neighborhood, and world a better place. We encourage you to brainstorm ideas with your children that they might want to add to our tree.

This activity will be done in school, so no need to do anything at home other than engage your children in conversations about what matters to them.

Please be on the lookout for this tree to emerge early in May in the front of the school.

Dr. Kassoy's Food For Thought

As we are heading into the homestretch of this year, coupled with the beautiful weather this past weekend, I couldn’t help starting to think about this summer. Although this summer will look a bit better than last, each family still is faced with making decisions for activities based on their need for COVID-safety.

So here is one resource for summer activities. When you open this link, please scroll down and click on Franklin county. I will be sharing different ones over the next few weeks. Please note that I have not vetted them for COVID protocols. Therefore, I encourage you to do so. On a personal note, much to the disappointment of my 9 year old granddaughter, her mother and I have had to cancel a summer camp that she has been eagerly anticipating attending. However, after reviewing the camp’s family handbook (which wasn’t available at the time she was registering) the decision has been made that she will not be able to attend. My granddaughter is feeling let down, but her safety comes first. I share this to let you know that I, too, understand that there are difficult decisions that will confront you as you plan for the summer.

As always, please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.

Felice, Rebecca, Megan, Jihyeon, and Syd
